Daisy Yan Du is Assistant Professor of Chinese Literature and Visual Culture in the Division of Humanities at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her most recent publication is an article on animals and animation during the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) in Positions: Asia Critique 24.2 (2016). She has also published articles on film, gender, and popular culture in Gender & History, Modern Chinese Literature and Culture, and Womens Studies Quarterly. She is currently working on a book manuscript about Chinese animation between the 1940s and 1970s.
